The Harley-Davidson® Breakout™ is Back for 2023 and Better than Ever

A decade after its first appearance, Harley-Davidson® reintroduces the Breakout™ again. We here at Barnes believed the raked out cruiser was gone for good after 2020, much to our dismay, but we now know it just went on a brief hiatus so that Harley-Davidson® could perfect it. And we couldn’t be happier! Breakout™ has been completely reinvented and is better than ever. So what’s new?

  1. 117 powertrain. Back in 2020, Breakout™ left us with a 103 cubic inch engine. It returns in 2023 with much more power and ferocity, thanks to the new 117 cubic inch powertrain, the largest engine Harley-Davidson® offers from the factory.
  2. 5 gallon tank. When we last saw Breakout™, it had a 3.5 gallon tank. This thirty percent increase was necessary with the larger powertrain. To feed this hungry pony, you need more gas! Yet Harley-Davidson® was mindful of the weight and kept the size in the mid-range so as to not slow you down.
  3. Paint finishes. The 2023 Breakout™ comes in 4 colours – Vivid Black, Black Denim, Baja Orange, and Atlas Silver Metallic. All four of these colours have unique finishes and graphic styling that serve to elevate the paintwork.
  4. Handlebars. A new handlebar riser and polished stainless steel handlebar is 3/4-inch taller than before for improved rider reach to controls.

Wake up your senses while stealing glances.

Wondering if Breakout™ is for you? This model flexes muscle and flashes bright chrome styling over its long-and-lean chopper profile, and instantly grants you bragging rights with its massive engine. Still not convinced? These details might help you decide. If you’re a fan of the following features, you’ll be a fan of Breakout™.
